Billy Ray Cyrus has played a variety of onscreen roles, including a caring doctor in the popular TV series Doc and Daniel Burton, a crusading father in the Hallmark Channel movie Christmas in Canaan. But one offscreen role that’s not in the cards, at least not yet, is the part of “grandfather.”

Back in August, it was reported by several outlets that Billy Ray’s son Trace and his fiancée, actress Brenda Song, were expecting a child after Brenda was spotted sporting a “baby bump.”

But Billy Ray tells CountryWeekly.com that Brenda is not pregnant. “I’m not going to be a grandpa yet,” he says.

“We don’t have any [grandchildren] in the can right now. In today’s world,” Billy Ray adds, “one rumor gets loose and before you know it—boom—everybody has the story.”

Billy Ray notes that he was looking forward to being a grandpa at the relatively young age of 50. “I got real excited,” he admits after he first heard the reports. “I think I’d be a great grandpa. I look forward to it one day.”

Trace is the son of Billy Ray’s wife, Tish, and was adopted by Billy Ray after he and Tish married. Billy Ray is also set to star in a sequel to Christmas in Canaan titled Christmas Comes Home to Canaan, which premieres on the Hallmark Channel Dec. 17.

Being green is also how actress Brenda Song and her family celebrate the holidays.

“Something that my dad does every Christmas, which I love, is all of our Christmas lights are solar powered,” Song told us at the OP Winter Wonderland party in Hollywood. “During the day they soak up all the sun and at night they roll over to the solar power, which is really cool.”

Song, who’s currently engaged to Miley Cyrus’ big bro Trace, also shared one of her favorite holiday traditions.

“Every year, my dad and I—I’m 23 years old—and we still get in the car and drive around and look at Christmas lights,” she laughed. “In our same neighborhood.”

That’s right, they may not be confirming anything else, but they are confirming this: Trace Cyrus and Brenda Song are engaged!

The couple, who began dating in spring 2010 and who, at least at last check, are expecting their first child together, revealed the happy news on (where else?) Twitter this afternoon.

“I am very excited to say, last week I asked my girlfriend Brenda Song to marry me and she said YES! We are both very excited to be engaged!” the 22-year-old fiancé announced.

There’s still been no official word from Song—not that one is really needed—but it was the 23-year-old Disney star herself who sparked speculation of her marital status this morning, when photos emerged of her wearing what appeared (and has since been proven) to be an engagement ring.

All we can say is—dang! Who knew being the former frontman of Metro Station paid so well?

No wedding date has yet been announced for the couple, which makes two unknowns for the young duo.

Though a source confirmed to E! News back in August that Brenda was pregnant, last month her mother Mai Song reportedly (grain of salt alert) spoke to Star, and adamantly declared that her daughter is “actually not pregnant.”

For her part, Song has taken pains to maintain a low profile (save for today’s bling-baring excursion), and when she has appeared in public, it’s always been under the protection of some pretty baggy clothes. So the mystery, at least for now, continues.

Brenda Song’s mother has come out denying that her daughter is pregnant. Rumors started last month that she was pregnant with Trace Cyrus’ child. However, she nor he ever confirmed or denied the rumors. Her mother, Mai Song says that these rumors have been hurting them but did not say why they waited so long. Here is what she did have to say.

Brenda and Trace both have been extremely quite for a while. She also has been seen wearing looser clothes, which makes some people question both sides. However, the rumor seemed a little absurd from the beginning. It is tough to say what really went or is going on, but I think we can go by what her mother has to say right now. With that being said, I do find it strange that her pr person has not said anything.

What do you think about the rumor and her mother’s statement? I know many find the time between the story and now as odd. However, the rumor never got that big so it is possible that they might have not heard until recently. But I do find that much more hard to believe than anything else that might have blocked a statement.

So when the 23-year-old actress was photographed after getting pampered with a pedicure in Toluca Lake, Calif., over the weekend, our eyes went straight to her belly.

Or lack thereof.

Aside from looking superchic with her large, black Chanel bag, Song seemed to be missing one other, roundish, accessory—a baby bump.

OK, so maybe our selfish need to see her protruding belly is getting us too excited and it’s a little too soon. But in all fairness, her outfit isn’t exactly superfitted, so it could be hiding in there somewhere.

We’ll just have to wait for a bikini shot to know for sure.

Although Trace Cyrus and Brenda Song haven’t been dating long, an insider tells HollyBaby.com the entire family is supporting them and cannot wait for their baby to be born!

Miley’s bro—who, ironically, used to bag on Disney kids—and Song are brewin’ up a little half-Disney, half-tattooed rock star baby. Funny how things happen.

The couple modeled the latest threads for Trace’s Southern Made Hollywood Paid clothing line, and made their first red carpet appearance together at Nylon’s party in May.

As far as previous lovers, Trace was once tied to a Twitter romance with Demi Lovato. Song, on the other hand, has kept her romantic life on the down low.

By the way, if you haven’t caught on yet…Miley’s gonna be an auntie!

Brenda Song recently inked a deal with the top talent agency, United Talent Agency, reports the Hollywood Reporter. She stars in the Disney Channel series The Suite Life on Deck and recently starred in the Oscar-winning critically acclaimed film, The Social Network. Song was previously represented by International Creative Management.

Song, 22, recently ended her relationship with the Disney Channel. Her biggest teen hits include the network’s teen movies, Stuck in the Suburbs and Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior. She became a regular fixture on the network at the age of 17.

She is now represented by the UTA in films. Current clients of the agency include Johnny Depp and Daniel Radcliffe. Song’s manager, Cami Curtis, is also Mila Kunis’ manager. Song and Kunis were recently named one of the hottest women at the 2011 Oscars by Maxim Magazine and both appeared in the 1996 comedy film Santa with Muscles together. They also both competed for the Best Picture Oscar this year.

Song is managed by Curtis Talent Management and is set to star in several upcoming theatrical films, such as Boogie Town and First Kiss.
